Integration of OpenAIs technology into Bing has helped it compete better with Google in page visits growth, with 15.8% increase in visits on Bing since Microsoft unveiled its AI-powered version, compared with a near 1% decline for Google, according to analytics firm Similarweb. Bing AI is available to most users worldwide and app downloads have jumped eight times since AI integration. Analysts expect Bing to gain market share in search over the coming months, especially if Google continues delay of generative AI integration into its product. The figures highlight Microsofts opportunity to make inroads in the dominant $120bn search market, where Google has over 80% share.
