With over 240 million registered users from 190 countries, Wix is a leading website building platform that operates in 3 regions and +20 points globally. The need for speed in software business delivery calls for Continuous Delivery, DevOps, and serverless. Microservices allow for scaling up and maintaining software much easily. Finally, there is serverless, which takes away much of the overhead and the need to maintain servers. Despite their benefits, scaling beyond a handful of microservices can get complicated quickly. PaaR is a new approach that seeks to go beyond Platform Engineering and offers a more flexible and decoupled approach. In conclusion, PaaR offers the ability to manage, operate and update code more efficiently and allows for greater flexibility in terms of choosing the right technology for the right problem.
