Last week, Sam Altman sat down with 20 developers to discuss OpenAIs APIs and product plans. One major theme that emerged is that OpenAI is heavily GPU limited at present, slowing down short-term plans. However, their near-term roadmap includes faster and cheaper GPT-4, longer context windows, and expanded finetuning API support. Sam also stated that OpenAI would avoid competing with their customers, except for ChatGPT. While developers expressed interest in ChatGPT plugins, Sam noted their lack of PMF and that they would not be released any time soon.
