Microsoft is bringing popular programming language Python to Excel, allowing users to manipulate and analyze data from Python directly within the Excel environment. The integration does not require additional software or add-ons, and Python calculations run in the Microsoft Cloud. Excel users will have access to popular Python libraries and can create formulas, PivotTables, and charts based on Python data. The feature is rolling out as a public preview for Microsoft 365 Insiders in the Beta Channel on Windows, with availability on other platforms coming later. Some functionality will require a paid license after the preview ends.
