OpenAI announced the third version of its generative AI visual art platform DALL-E, which now integrates with ChatGPT to create prompts and includes more safety options. DALL-E 3 understands context better than its previous versions and allows users to ask ChatGPT for a prompt instead of coming up with their own. The release will be staggered, starting with ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Enterprise users in October. OpenAI has focused on creating robust safety measures to prevent the creation of explicit or hateful images and has worked with external red teamers to test its safety. DALL-E 3 will also avoid recreating images of public figures unless mentioned in the prompt.
