OctoTools is an open-source agentic framework designed to tackle complex reasoning tasks across diverse domains. It introduces standardized tool cards to encapsulate tool functionality, a planner for high-level and low-level planning, and an executor for tool usage. With a task-specific toolset optimization algorithm, OctoTools outperforms other frameworks in accuracy gains. The framework includes tool cards, planner, executor, and provides a performance comparison across 16 tasks, showcasing substantial improvements over existing models.
